Final pieces

For this photo, I used the levels to make the image darker whilst adjusting the contrast and colour balance. I overlayed text over the top with the blending option multiply such as words like "not pretty enough" and "not good enough". The saturation of the image has been increased allowing the colours to look grungey and very contrasted. I felt this final piece went successful as I wanted to capture the ''truth'' of feelings. Also I linked this to the use of makeup and how it affects some women, having to ''hide '' their true identity.

My other final piece I have used the projector to display the text onto the models body. For this experiment I arranged words together such as ''not good enough'', ''Too thin'', ''Too fat''. I wanted to display the words onto her body because they are like her feelings. Instead of feelings on the inside and people looking ''normal'' to the public. I wanted the text shown on her body to express true feelings. In terms of editing I adjusted the levels and playing with the curves. I also turned it into black and white allowing the text to become more prominent against the black. I also like how it looks like her silhouette and how the text shape her body.

Projection experiment

Next I developed the projection experiment further. I have expanded on the idea of thoughts and feelings. Instead the feelings and thoughts are projected onto the body and people can see the truth. The model is wearing typical clothes, the fact she looks like a ''normal'' girl on the inside, but has all these feelings inside of her.

Development - Experimenting with the projector

Contact sheets

This was my second attempt of experimenting with the projector to show words onto the body. I made the word smaller, which I liked as they are more readable. I also attempted different angles of the head and also body.

Experimenting with the projector

For this shoot I wanted to experiment with the use of projection, in with I discovered through Pinterest research. I played around with text projecting onto people whilst using powerful words such as ''never good enough'', which is how society makes people feel. My aim was to capture peoples thoughts onto them so you can see what they are thinking.

Contact Sheets

I felt this shoot went successful as I liked how the words were projected onto the models body. To develop this further I am going to make the text smaller and repeated so it is easily recognised. I am also going to try out different angles.

Experimentation

I really like the use of projection and text, so I used this on a previous image I edited. I inserted a new layer which was the text I took before, I then used the overlay effect softly. I then used the vibrance tool to desaturate the image because the lighting on the text had made the main subject red highlighted, due to additional light.

Shoot inspired by Pinterest

For this photoshoot, my inspiration was gained from Pinterest. I experimented this by taking pictures from slightly different angles of the models face. The expression she was showing is neutral and emotionless. I purposely smudged and ran the makeup down her face messily as I wanted it to look like she had smudged the makeup down her face. To develop this I am going to edit this in Photoshop by turning it in black and white.

Next I developed one of the photos into Photoshop by firstly adjusting the levels. Then turning it into black and white.  To cover up the any unwanted marks of the makeup, I used the healing brush tool to  remove these. I have taken this close up, allowing the background to be blurry and her eye to be the main focus, which is central.
